PREMIUM GUNNING DECOYS SINCE 1958
Clinton Decoy Co. started out in 1958 as Decoys Unlimited, makers of cast aluminum decoy making molds. In 1984 we introduced the Original Big Foot. In 1990 we came out with the first full body in a true feeding position; it was another 10 years before the floating goose decoy came along. In 2004 we added snow and blue goose decoys, both the standard and a feeder.
STRAIGHT SHOOTING ABOUT HUNTING DECOYS vs. SHOW BIRDS
In years past we have won a few blue ribbons and best of show honors for a variety of hunting decoys. On the decoy show circuit there were basically two competitions. One division featured lifelike, realistic carvings, with detailed feather painting. The other division featured hunting class decoys. The realistic carvings were usually incredibly accurate and required great artistic talent. On the other hand in the hunting class the decoy maker often must deviate from absolute realism. For example, most hunters prefer decoys much larger than life size. Preferred paint schemes are often more vivid or contrasting for improved visibility. Hunting decoys must be durable and usable.
ORIGINAL BIGFOOT UPGRADED FOR 2004
After a great twenty year run the original Big Foot mold has been retired and a new version has been introduced.
New Big Foot body is basically the same as the original but with more detailed feathering, and improved painting schemes.
The feeder model remains the same.
2004 head styles for the standard Big Foot are all new with more striking texturing.
