TESTIMONIALS
We hunt for a living and our decoys are our most valuable tool. We have run every brand of decoy on the market today and have found Bigfoots to be the most durable decoy made. We have decoys that are 5 years old and they look as good as our brand new Bigfoots, something we can't say for anything else we own.

Our groups consistently take limits of geese in high pressure/low goose population areas over your decoys. We had 4 days straight filming this year that we limited out 6 or more hunters over 6 dozen or less Bigfoots. Our best day was 32 geese over 1 dozen of your decoys. This isn't hunting in Canada either, all of our hunts are within 30 miles of our homes in Northern Utah.

Thanks again Bigfoot for building a decoy that withstands year after year of 107 day seasons and brings geese feet down in our spread.

I’ve been using Bigfoots for over 7 years, and I’ve never had any problems or doubts with their durability or their ability to fool geese. We treat them, well, like decoys and they get tossed in and out of trucks and trailers without any wear and tear. We put the decoys to the ultimate test of durability last fall (by accident), and here are the results. On our way to Saskatchewan for our annual goose hunt, we passed through NW ND and ran into a trailer problem. As we descended down a river valley and over a hard bump on the bridge, I heard a noise in the rear. I take a look in the rear view mirror and what I was to witness next will stick with me for a long time. Evidently, the nut on the bottom of the hitch somehow wore itself loose. As we hit that bump it popped off, and the force bent the safety chains instantly. The trailer went into a sidespin, and started rolling over itself like a bowling ball (not an enclosed trailer, but an open top). On about the 4th roll the tarp came off and our 6 dozen bigfoots exploded out of the trailer like a popcorn machine. I couldn’t believe my eyes; it was like a bad dream. As we rushed out of the vehicle to view the damage, a semi came cruising down the highway and ran over 3 or 4 of our decoys, dragging them down the road. I was shocked to say the least. Most of the decoy heads and bases came apart, and we rushed to retrieve them all. To my surprise, none of the bodies or heads were damaged other than a few small chips, only one foot base (and we had an extra). I repeat, after being rolled over by a trailer, experiencing serious road burn and taking the full 60 mph wrath of a semi; the decoys were in next to perfect shape. To this day, this occurrence has led to what is now called the “pavement test”, and whenever anyone questions the bigfoots durability I refer them to that uneventful evening. Keep up the good work with making such an amazing, quality American made product!

Dear Art Ladehoff:
In 1988 I purchased 400 Bigfoot Canada Goose Decoys. I operate the Yancy Place Hunting Club in Ballard County, Kentucky. Ballard County is in far Western Kentucky near the confluence of the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers. In the 13 seasons that I have used the Bigfoot Decoys just over 10,000 Canada geese have been taken over them.

As a matter of interest, we leave the decoys in the field all season. We put them put in late November and take them in about the first week of February. They stay out in rain, snow and sun. Your decoys look as good as the day we bought them.

Thank you for a quality decoy that will fool geese year after year.

Sincerely,
Bill Schroeder, Owner
Yancy Hunting Club

Dear Mr. Schroeder,

Thank you for the nice letter about Bigfoot decoys. I think I remember the particular sale of decoys to Yancy.

In the beginning, my idea was to make a decoy that really looked like a Canada goose and try to convince the hunter that there are times when a smaller number of good looking decoys might work better then a huge number of junk decoys. With that in mind I decided I could charge a higher price, since hunters would be buying only six or maybe a dozen decoys. In addition there was only myself and one helper so we were not set up to make a large number of decoys.

At that time we had quite a few problems to deal with and although money was not at the top of the list it is always in the running. Then, I get this call from someone wanting this big order, it was like hitting the lottery. I could not believe that someone was going to purchase $8,000.00 worth of decoys at one time. I think that that was the particular event had a significant impact on the popularity of the decoy. Other Kentucky outfitters began to call and I guess you might say the rest is history.

I am glad that I have had another opportunity to say thanks.

Sincerely,
Art Ladehoff
